Trident®-S Solid Dielectric Switchgear

Trident®-S is a three phase, spring-assisted load break or fault interrupting switch. Its side-mounted handles can be positioned with a hookstick eye on top or bottom, providing the ideal mechanical advantage for either vertical or horizontal mounting. Learn how Trident®-S enhances system reliability as part of our advanced switchgear solutions.

Features and Benefits

  • Construction – Available compact construction with front accessible switch operators and bushings, front and back accessible switch operators and bushings, or front access to operators and rear access to bushings.

  • SafeVu Visible Break – Available with an innovative visible break built into the switch, which eliminates the need to remove elbows or use externally mounted components to provide a visible open.

  • Self Powered Protection – G&W Electric Type VI controls are self-powered by the fully encapsulated current sensors in the Trident. Standard industry curves including fuse emulation curves for overcurrent and ground fault protection.

  • Fault Interrupting – Fault Interrupting – Three phase fault interrupting up to 16kA.

  • Voltage Sensing – Available with fully encapsulated integral voltage sensing for use with voltage indication panel to determine in-phase condition or for use with a relay with up to 1% accuracy.

  • Automation – Available for motor automation with mounted or portable control. A variety of relays such as SEL, ABB, and GE are available with G&W Electric programming and cabinet construction. Cabinets can be ordered in a low voltage enclosure for padmount, and pedestal, wall mount or IP68 rated submersible for vault installed switchgear. Programming for automatic source transfer, protection, or LaZer custom solutions are available.

  • Submersible – Designed to operate while submerged in up to 20 feet of water for 20 days, making them ideal for flood-prone and harsh environments.
