Quality Assurance Technician

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for conducting process and testing audits, ensure all equipment checks and quality equipment verifications are completed and in compliance, and in-process quality checks are conducted to ensure quality products from the SLiM, EPOXY and Vacuum processes.

Primary/Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular audits of procedures, work instructions, control plans, and training compliance documenting results and communicating to the responsible parties.
  • Performs and documents in-process inspections of products and advises supervisors of nonconformances.
  • Participate in updating quality specific work instructions and quality documentation as needed, including Quality Alerts, Control Plans, and Process FMEAs.
  • Ensures all production personnel are completing the required paperwork and quality checks as scheduled and report anomalies to the Shift Supervisor and Quality Manager.
  • Ensures all non-conformances are entered as ncr’s for materials and finished products for management disposition. Ensure all nonconforming materials are properly labeled and properly placed in the non-conforming areas with full descriptions.
  • Participates with internal audit groups and performs internal audits as necessary.
  • Write reports to share observations about compliance and recommend changing the systems and processes as necessary.
  • Carryout routine test procedures, document results as required, make proper disposition of materials or final products and reports non-conformances to shift supervisor.
  • Assist training operators in performing in process inspections and key quality assurance practices.
  • Participates in continuous improvement meetings, makes improvement suggestions, and implements as assigned.
  • Actively Work with supervisors to determine future best practices and quality procedures to prevent future ncr’s, external customer returns and scrap.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by other Quality Manager.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years progressive experience in quality control and inspection or its equivalent technical degree and work experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical abilities with good attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience working with quality management systems

Preferred Qualifications:

2 or 4-year technical degree
