Production Manager – Molding

Position Summary: The Production Manager – Molding is responsible for the effective day-to-day performance of the epoxy operation. Responsible for all aspects of the production processes which includes Molding, Finishing, Assembly, and Inventory Management. Lead the Operations team and collaborate with cross functional teams to meet short and long-term goals of safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Assign and prioritize work schedule.
  • Achieve daily production schedule.
  • Customer first commitment to deliver products and services On-Time.
  • Drive capacity and productivity improvements.
  • Lead and direct continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead team to achieve 98% molding FPY.
  • Lead team to continually reduce scrap year over year.
  • Analyze cost of production to establish areas for improvements.
  • Examine processes and design plans to effectively use available resources.
  • Accountable for inventory accuracy and compliance of inventory management.
  • Accountable for good tooling maintenance and timely equipment calibration.
  • Create and manage Epox plant budget.
  • Apply performance management policies consistently.
  • Ensure completion of employees’ training.
  • Coach and develop next level operations/production management and staff.
  • Mentor and coach employees to achieve a high level of performance.
  • Ensure that the plant operates in a safe manner, that all work is performed using safe work practices and abides by ISO codes of practice.
  • Ensure the company’s Quality Vision Policy is understood and adhered to by all personnel.
  • Promote positive employee engagement.
  • Ensure adherence to rules and workplace policies.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of demonstrated leadership experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years of experience leading a molding operation. Preferred Epoxy molding or experienced with Thermoplastics and/or Thermoset molding processes.
  • Demonstrated experience of process improvements.
  • A mix of formal training and experience with lean, operations management, and business acumen.
  • Must possess strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Process) or business management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, presentation).
  • Strong systematic and comprehension of data to convert actions into solutions.
  • Ability to make independent and sound decisions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Result driven approach.
