Python® SSC style transmission terminations are designed for gas insulated substation applications on solid dielectric cable systems rated up to 550kV IEC (500kV IEEE). They are offered in the conventional version and for the Plug-in/Plug-out is available up to 245kV IEC (230kV IEEE) . Plug-in/Plug-out offers additional advantages over Conventional installation. Used in gas insulated substation and transformer applications on extruded dielectric cable systems rated u to 55kV IEC (500kV IEEE).

Features and Benefits
Plug-in/Plug-out – Allows for removal of the plug and provides a visual disconnect of the circuit
Plug-in/Plug-out – A built-in deflector reduces electrical stress by spreading out the voltage lines
Conventional – Stress cone is made of translucent LSR material allowing for excellent insulation properties and quality checks on the job site
Conventional – Pressure tight epoxy socket insulator
Plug-in/Plug-out – A self-locking cable connection supports cable weight for 5m with no clamping reducing the risk of system failing due to false cable hold (maximum cable size of 1600mm2 (32000kcmil)
Plug-in/Plug-out – Allows for changing cable without disturbing equipment
Conventional – Dry type design, no oil filling of the termination required
