G&W Electric’s Nenad Uzelac selected as Chairman for Transmission & Dist. Equip. Study Committee at CIGRE

Bolingbrook, Illinois, September 6, 2018 – G&W Electric is excited to announce that Nenad Uzelac, Global Research & Standards Manager, has been selected as the new Chairman for the CIGRE Transmission & Distribution Equipment Study Committee through 2024. Uzelac has also received an Attwood Associate Award which is given to an individual who has made notable contributions to CIGRE over an extended period of time.

CIGRE Transmission and Distribution Equipment Study Committee (SC A3) is responsible for theory, principles, design, technological development and technical evaluation of both AC and DC T&D Equipment that is not covered under other Study committees. This includes all devices for switching, interrupting and limiting currents (circuit breakers, reclosers, disconnecting and grounding switches, fault current limiters, etc..) busbars, surge arrestors and instrument transformers.

Uzelac has over two decades of experience as a direct contributor and a leader in Medium Voltage Power industry, with focus on switchgear design and development. In 1999, Uzelac relocated to the United States and began his career at G&W as an R&D engineer. In 2005 he became R&D manager, responsible for development, design, testing and production implementation of the medium voltage switchgear equipment up to 38kV. Starting in 2015 he started to lead the G&W Global Research team.  His research interests include AC and DC switching, materials and insulation technologies, condition monitoring and diagnostics and low power instrument transformers.
