Position Summary:
Reporting to the Production Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Designer will design custom solutions to match customer specifications from selection, design and integration of medium voltage switchgear and reclosers.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities:
- Review and understand design requirements of customized medium voltage switchgears.
- Participate in design review when necessary.
- Plan and complete defined design work per schedule.
- Choose correct modular subassemblies and configurations of the product.
- Design and modify the layout and package of the subassemblies to meet the design requirement.
- Detail and draft new parts required for the new design.
- Prepare mechanical drawings with dimensions, tolerance and bill of material.
- Update schedule and database.
- Prepare production documentation.
- Verify and validate other designers work.
- Support production, Supply Chain, Sales and QA.
- Process engineering change notices.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- 3+ years experience in mechanical engineering design.
- Good understanding of automatic mechanical equipment.
- Working experience with 3D solid modeling and drawings (CREO).
- Good team player and quick learner.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate the activities with diverse tasks and demanding schedules.
- Excellent command of the English Language verbal and written.
Physical Demands / Working Conditions: General Office Environment, PC use
