It was registered in January 1904 and incorporated on June 29, 1922, at the AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS – AIEE -, in the USA.
- It is the third oldest section in the world, outside of the United States of America.
- It is the founding Section of Region 9, Latin America
- With a membership of 1,800 Engineers and 4,000 engineering students
- Participate in 12 Technical Chapters and 76 Student Branches
- 6 Subsections; Hidalgo, Yucatán, Baja California, Chihuahua, Tlaxcala and Toluca
- Groups of Current Fundamental Importance; “Women in Engineering”, “Young Professionals” and “Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology”
It is organized into technical, educational and professional activities that promote electrical, electronic, telecommunications, mechatronics and robotics technologies for the professional development of its membership and benefit of the Industry.
Knowledge of scientific and technological advances is promoted among IEEE members that are transformed into products and services to achieve productivity, competitiveness and improve the quality of life of the Mexican Society.
