Python® premolded rubber joints (PMJ) are available for 72.5kV to 550kV IEC (69kV to 500kV IEEE) solid dielectric cable systems. These joints are used to connect two pieces of XLPE or EPR cables and can be used in the event of a failure. Utilizing the mechanical shrink greatly decreases the amount of space needed during installation and removes the need for special installation tools. Typically used to connect cable runs and for cable repairs.
