Powder Coat Operator

Location:
US, IL, Bolingbrook

HOURS: 4:45am – 1:15pm

Position Summary:

Perform a variety of repetitive tasks of basic complexity to prepare parts for assembly by applying a surface treatment.

Essential Functions:                                                      

  • Prepare and maintain the blast booth and PPE (personal protective equipment) on a daily basis
  • Prepare parts for blast operation according to work instructions and department procedures
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Monitor the condition of the equipment and tooling
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
  • Inspect all work prior to passing it on to the next operation
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms
  • Keep tools and equipment operational by completing routine preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be able to safely use small hand and power tools
  • Must be able to read and interpret Drawings and Bills of Materials
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Must be able to troubleshoot routine equipment problems

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma, GED, or combination of work experience and skill development required 
  • 0-1 year of prior experience working in a manufacturing environment required

Physical Demands: Passing results from a pulmonary function test (PFT). (The work is classified as Medium – Heavy Physical Demand Level (PDL) by the US Dept of Labor’s Dictionary of Occupational Titles) Frequencies: Occasional (1-33%); Frequent (34-66%); Continuous (67-100%)
