NPD Project Engineer

Position Summary: mechanical engineer supporting New Product development and change requests on legacy products.

Primary/Essential Responsibilities: 
•    Designer of 3D models of new products as assemblies.
•    Designer of 2D drawings of components and subassemblies, define key characteristics. 
•    Follow established company procedures for creation and maintenance of CAD databases and libraries.
•    Responsible for completing assigned tasks to ensure project completion in accordance with the schedule.
•    Support New product development by designing simple fixtures for assembly proto batches.
•    3D print fixtures.
•    Support transfer to production of new products by evaluating external manufacturing processes of components.
•    Propose innovative technologies for fast manufacturing of new prototype components.
•    Search and propose innovative materials / processes to improve industrialization level of existing products.
•    Mechanical, thermal FEA on 3D models of new products for feasibility study.
•    Mechanical, thermal FEA on 3D models of new or existing products for root cause analysis.
•    Assist with constructing and testing initial prototypes for feasibility study.
•    Interface with purchasing in the selection and approval of component parts and assemblies.

Required Qualifications: 

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical engineering. 
•    Basic technical knowledge in mechanical engineering. 
•    3 – 5 years engineering experience.
•    Basic knowledge of AutoCad.
•    Manage geometrical and dimensional tolerances.
•    Desire to be challenged with new problems.
•    Ability to read, interpret and apply technical & industrial standards
•    Ability to use small hand and power tools

Preferred Qualifications:  

•    Interested in 3D printing.
•    interested in new findings in the field of sintering, casting, laser technology.
•    Experience with 3D parametric modeling and Finite Element analysis.
•    The ideal candidate will have a history of creativity and initiative.
•    Basic knowledge of PTC CREO Parametric.
