Logistics Coordinator

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Logistics Coordinator is responsible for all outbound/inbound transportation coordination, as well as providing administrative and hands-on support to the logistics team.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all inbound/outbound freight arrangements, tracking and tracing as required
- Maintain electronic transportation records, reporting and metrics as required
- Prepare all related shipping documentation including but not limited to the commercial/pro-forma invoice, bill of lading, packing slip, CUSMA certificate, HAZMAT, other customs or government regulated documentation as required
- Process declaration of goods (CERS)
- Negotiate pricing and contracts with service providers
- Assist with Carrier/Broker selection and evaluation
- Prepare and execute the daily shipping schedule, coordinate with all parties as required to support the schedule and on time customer delivery
- Prepare carrier/service partner scorecards and provide performance feedback, set development plans as required
- Collect measurements and other details as necessary for outbound shipments
- Responsible for CUSMA/USMCA collection and filing
- Act as backup to the Supply Chain Coordinator and Planning team
- Place purchase orders for shipping and receiving related supplies
- Other duties as required
Required Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience in logistics and transportation coordination
- Working knowledge of JD Edwards Oracle or equivalent ERP system
- Excellent computer software skills including MS Word, Excel, Access, Project etc.
- Ability to multi-task under pressure in a high paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in English
Preferred Qualifications:
- APICS CPIM or CLTD designation
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS)
- Inventory management experience
- Strong sense of urgency in order to meet and exceed customer expectations
- Ability to problem solve in order to achieve desired outcomes
Physical Demands / Working Conditions:
- General Office Environment, PC use
- Light Lifting (occasional 25 lbs or less)
- Fast Pace and tight deadline environment
- Manufacturing Shop Floor (periodic visits)
- Stooping
- Standing
